The Châteauneuf-du-Pape Réserve des Célestins 1988 by Henri Bonneau, drawn from Rhône pebble soils, offers aromas of kirsch, pepper, and garrigue. Its silky and mineral structure makes it a well-balanced wine, ideal with red meats or cheeses.
Nestled in the heart of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, this family estate embodies the heritage of an uncompromising winemaking tradition, where each cuvée tells the soul of a unique terroir.
- Terroir : The rounded pebbles and clay-limestone soils of the appellation, bathed in Mediterranean sunshine, sculpt wines of mineral depth and rare elegance.
- Vinification : An artisanal approach, combining extended maceration and barrel ageing, yielding wines of precise structure and captivating complexity.
Tasting notes for Henri Bonneau Châteauneuf-du-Pape Réserve des Célestins 1988
To the eye – A deep ruby robe with tawny highlights, of a silky density.
On the nose – First, aromas of candied black cherry and wild raspberry, followed by a touch of kirsch and grey pepper, before opening up onto notes of dry garrigue and a chalky, almost saline minerality.
On the palate – A smooth yet taut texture, carried by a lively acidity and a still-present tannic structure, where soft spices, ripe fruits, and a long finish marked by mineral elegance all intertwine.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Burgundy glass to release its full complexity.

- Aging potential : This wine, already at peak maturity, can continue to improve for 5 to 10 years under ideal cellar conditions (stable temperature, controlled humidity).
