Nestled in the heart of Villié-Morgon, this family estate has embodied the soul of Beaujolais since 1981, where tradition meets a resolutely natural approach to viticulture.
- Terroir: The granitic soils of the Côte de Py, in the Morgon appellation, lend the wines a distinctive minerality and rare depth.
- Winemaking: Gentle and respectful methods, with minimal sulfur intervention, to reveal the purity of Gamay.
Tasting notes for Jean Foillard Morgon Côte de Py 2015
To the eye: A deep red robe with garnet reflections, of a silky and luminous texture.
On the nose: Aromas of ripe plum and juicy black fruits, followed by a hint of flint and a subtle earthy note, lifted by a saline edge.
On the palate: A velvety mouthfeel, carried by a lively acidity and a chalky minerality, stretching into a long and elegant finish.
Serve at 14°C in a Burgundy-style red wine glass to bring out all its nuances.
