The Morgon Éponyme 2015 from Domaine Jean Foillard draws its character from the granitic soils of Morgon. This Gamay, aged in barrels, offers notes of red fruits, violet and licorice, a lively and mineral palate. Perfect with charcuterie or game, it can be kept through 2028.
Domaine Jean Foillard
A family estate rooted in the granitic hillsides of Morgon, where respect for the terroir and traditions shapes wines of rare authenticity.
- Terroir : Vineyards perched between 300 and 450 metres, on granitic soils of the Morgon appellation, in Beaujolais – a mineral signature and a unique tension.
- Winemaking : Natural methods, semi-carbonic fermentation and indigenous yeasts for wines of preserved purity and elegance.
Tasting notes for Domaine Jean Foillard Morgon Eponyme 2015
To the eye – A purple robe with garnet reflections, dense and silky, betraying a generous substance and beautiful ripeness.
On the nose – First, aromas of black cherry and ripe raspberry, followed by a touch of violet and licorice, before a subtle chalky note underlines the minerality of the terroir.
On the palate – A velvety texture, carried by a lively acidity and a discreet salinity, where red fruits intertwine with spiced nuances, for a long and taut finish.
Serve at 14–16°C in a Burgundy glass to release its full complexity.
Vintage 2015
A sunny vintage, marked by optimal grape ripeness, offering a perfect balance between concentration and freshness.
- Aging potential : To be enjoyed through 2028, provided it is kept in a cool place (12–14°C) away from light.
