A family estate rooted in the prestigious terroir of Saint-Émilion, where the viticultural heritage has been passed down since 1705.
- Terroir : 22 hectares in the "Golden Triangle" of Saint-Émilion, combining limestone plateau, clay-limestone slopes and siliceous soils for a mineral and complex expression.
- Vinification : A plot-by-plot blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc, precisely aged to reveal the balance between roundness and tannic structure.
Tasting Notes for Château La Gaffelière 2003
To the eye – A deep red robe with garnet hues, dense and luminous, heralding a generous and silky body.
On the nose – Aromas of wild blackberry and blackcurrant mingle with notes of fresh violet, then evolve toward hints of soft spices and a subtle chalky minerality.
On the palate – The texture is velvety, carried by a lively acidity and a fine tannic framework, while the long and saline finish leaves an impression of purity and elegance.
Serve at 16°C in a Bordeaux glass to fully release its aromas.
