The 1er Cru Montmains 2024 from Domaine Jean-Paul & Benoît Droin reveals the Kimmeridgian soils of Chablis. This white wine, aged in stainless steel, offers notes of citrus and flint. Vibrant and mineral, it pairs perfectly with oysters or fish, with an aging potential of ten years.
A family estate rooted in the terroir of Chablis for nearly five centuries, where tradition and precision shape wines of mineral elegance.
- Terroir: 26 hectares of vines in Burgundy, whose Kimmeridgian soils of the Montmains climat, rich in marine fossils, give the wines their chalky and saline signature.
- Vinification: a fruit-focused approach, combining fermentation in stainless steel tanks to preserve aromatic purity and aging on fine lees for a silky texture.
Tasting notes for Domaine Jean-Paul & Benoît Droin Chablis 1er Cru Montmains 2024
To the eye: a pale gold robe with green highlights, of crystalline clarity, revealing an almost silky texture from the very first glance.
On the nose: aromas of green apple and candied lemon intertwine with notes of acacia blossom, before giving way to a saline touch and a chalky minerality, the signature of the Montmains soils.
On the palate: a lively and precise attack, driven by a taut acidity that stretches into a long, saline finish, where minerality dominates without overwhelming the fresh fruitiness.
Serving temperature: 10–12°C – White Burgundy glass to enhance its complexity.

- Aging potential: 10 years, to be stored under optimal conditions (stable temperature between 12 and 14°C and controlled humidity).
