Domaine Jean-Paul & Benoît Droin Thirteenth generation of a winemaking lineage dating back to 1547, this family estate embodies the soul of Chablis – a balance between tradition and precision. - Terroir: 28 hectares rooted in Kimmeridgian marl, where reddish clay shapes wines of singular richness. - Vinification: A subtle alliance between oak barrels and stainless steel tanks, yielding cuvées that are both powerful and of a mineral elegance. Tasting notes for Domaine Jean-Paul & Benoît Droin Chablis 1er Cru Fourchaume 2024 In the eye – A pale gold robe with green highlights, of a silky clarity, like the gleam of stone polished by time. On the nose – First, notes of crisp Fuji apple and hawthorn blossom, followed by a hint of apricot kernel and a saline edge. On the palate – A dense, chalky texture, carried by a lively and sculpted acidity, stretching into a long, mouth-watering finish where fresh citrus and iodine minerality intertwine. Serve at 11°C in a white Burgundy glass to reveal its full tension and purity. Vintage 2024 A vintage marked by early ripeness and remarkable concentration, where freshness combines with a generous structure. - Aging potential: Enjoyable from 2027, with a peak between 2029 and 2039; store in a cool place away from light.
