This Blanc de Blancs Brut Nature from Laherte Frères, made from 100% Chardonnay grown on Épernay’s chalky slopes, charms with its minerality and aromas of citrus and peach. With no dosage and 24 months of aging on the lees, it combines freshness with a silky texture. Ideal with oysters, it improves with 3 to 5 years in the cellar.
A family-owned house rooted in the south-facing slopes of Épernay since 1889, Laherte Frères upholds a heritage of precision and respect for terroir.
- Terroir: Vines rooted in the chalky soils of the Côte des Blancs and the Marne Valley, where Chardonnay develops its minerality and tension.
- Winemaking: A biodynamic approach and aging on the lees in old barrels produce low-dosage champagnes with vibrant purity.
Tasting notes for Laherte Frères Blanc de Blancs Brut Nature
Appearance – A pale gold color with silky clarity, threaded with fine, persistent bubbles and a chalky gleam.
On the nose – Aromas of candied citrus (lime, pink grapefruit) intertwine with orchard fruit notes (white peach, Williams pear), giving way to a saline, mineral touch reminiscent of damp chalk.
On the palate – A texture both creamy and taut, with lively acidity and crystalline minerality extending into a long, saline finish of precise elegance.
