The Château Le Pin 2017, from the gravelly soils of Pomerol, is a Merlot aged 18 months in oak barrels. Dark fruits, spices and vanilla blend together in a silky and mineral palate. Its taut structure promises cellaring potential until 2035. Perfect with feathered game.
On the Pomerol plateau, this family estate has embodied exigence and rarity since 1979.
- Terroir: two hectares of clay-gravel soils, the historic heart of the appellation, where Merlot reveals its depth.
- Vinification: patient aging in French oak barrels, for an expression that is both powerful and delicate in its fruit.
Tasting notes for Château Le Pin 2017
To the eye: a garnet red robe with dense highlights, of an almost velvety texture in the light.
On the nose: aromas of wild blackberry and black cherry intertwine with notes of violet, roasted cocoa and a saline touch of graphite.
On the palate: a silky attack, carried by a lively acidity and a chalky minerality, stretching into a long and taut finish, marked by tannins of rare elegance.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Bordeaux glass to release its full complexity.
Vintage 2017
