The Pétrus 2021, from the blue clay soils of Pomerol, is a pure Merlot aged 18 months in oak barrels. Its aromas of dark fruits, spices and violet precede a silky, fresh and mineral palate. A wine with ageing potential (15–20 years), perfect with game and truffles.
Nestled at the heart of Pomerol, Pétrus embodies the excellence of a unique terroir, shaped by generations of family expertise.
- Terroir: Blue smectite clay, rare and deep, conferring an incomparable density and minerality to the wines.
- Vinification: Meticulous elaboration, blending tradition and precision, to reveal the purest expression of Merlot.
Tasting notes for Pétrus 2021
To the eye: A deep red robe with garnet reflections, of a silky and luminous texture.
On the nose: Aromas of wild blackberry, fresh violet, then liquorice and cocoa, underscored by a saline and chalky touch.
On the palate: A velvety attack, lively acidity and tannins of elegant finesse, carried by a persistent minerality and a long, precise finish.
Serve between 16 and 18°C in a Bordeaux glass to fully exalt its complexity.
