The Morey Blanc Meursault 1990, born on the clay-limestone terroirs of Meursault, showcases the mastery of Chardonnay. Aromas of white fruits, light honey and vanilla. On the palate, ample and mineral, it pairs beautifully with shellfish and soft-rind cheeses.
Nestled in the heart of Meursault, this estate combines family heritage with the exacting standards of a meticulous négociant. A Burgundian signature where precision and elegance meet.
- Terroir: The clay-limestone soils of Meursault, bathed in a temperate climate, impart a chalky minerality and a characteristic tension to the Chardonnays.
- Winemaking: Fermentation in oak barrels, patient aging and respect for the fruit – an approach where purity takes precedence over intervention.
Tasting notes for the Morey-Blanc Meursault 1990
To the eye – Golden robe with old gold highlights, of a silky and slightly unctuous texture, like a veil of light across the glass.
On the nose – Aromas of dried white flowers, toasted hazelnut, acacia honey and a touch of wet flint, carried by a saline minerality that evokes the limestone subsoils of the Côte de Beaune.
On the palate – A lively and precise attack, supported by a taut acidity that unfolds notes of candied lemon and flint, leading to a long, chalky finish where a hint of soft vanilla lingers.
Serve at 12–14°C in a Burgundy glass to release its full complexity.
Vintage 1990
A generous vintage, marked by a hot and sunny summer, during which the Chardonnays of Meursault achieved a rare ripeness without losing their freshness.
- Aging potential: 10 to 15 additional years in a cool cellar (12–14°C), away from light.
