Champagne Robert Barbichon Brut Nature, from the Kimmeridgian limestone slopes of Gyé-sur-Seine, reveals a distinctive Côte des Bar terroir. A blend of Chardonnay (90%) and Pinot Blanc (10%), this non-vintage champagne, partly fermented in oak, offers white-fruit aromas and chalky minerality. Lively and precise, this Brut Nature pairs elegantly with seafood.
A family estate rooted in the limestone slopes of the Côte des Bar, where Champagne heritage meets a commitment to organic farming.
- Terroir : Kimmeridgian limestone soils in Gyé-sur-Seine, a rare terroir in southern Champagne that shapes wines with chalky minerality and characteristic tension.
- Winemaking : Artisanal methods, with some of the wine fermented in oak, produce undosed champagnes that are pure and vibrant with freshness.
Tasting notes for Robert Barbichon Brut Nature
Appearance – Pale gold with green highlights and crystal clarity, with fine, persistent bubbles like a shower of silky pearls.
On the nose – Aromas of crisp Golden Delicious apple and perfectly ripe yellow peach, followed by a touch of tart Meyer lemon and a saline, chalky hint evocative of the estate’s limestone soils.
On the palate – An airy yet precise texture, driven by lively acidity and taut minerality, gives way to a long, saline finish of understated, refined elegance.
Serve at 8–10 °C in a narrow champagne flute to concentrate the aromas.
Blend of the 2019 and 2018 vintages
A marriage of two years with complementary profiles: the ripeness of 2019 meets the lively freshness of 2018, creating a harmonious, balanced non-vintage champagne.
- Aging potential : Enjoy now or store for 3 to 5 years in a cool cellar away from light to allow its mineral complexity to develop.
