Les Cocus 2023, a 100% Chenin Blanc Vin de France on schist in Faye d'Anjou. Old vines, spontaneous fermentation and barrel aging for a dry, mineral and fruity white wine. Fresh and taut on the palate, it pairs with shellfish or fish, to be enjoyed now or cellared for 3–5 years.
Domaine Thomas Batardière
A family estate rooted in the schistous hillsides of Faye d'Anjou, where Chenin Blanc expresses itself with rare authenticity.
- Terroir : Schistous soils of the Loire Valley, south-west facing hillside parcels, a temperate climate shaping wines of vibrant minerality.
- Winemaking : Biodynamic methods, hand harvesting and aging in barrels for vibrant, unadulterated cuvées.

To the eye – A golden robe with green highlights, of silky clarity, like a gleam of schist in the light.
On the nose – Aromas of crunchy green apple and hawthorn blossom, followed by notes of acacia honey and a saline touch reminiscent of sea spray.
On the palate – A taut and precise texture, carried by lively acidity and a chalky minerality, with a long and saline finish, almost iodine-tinged.
Serve between 10 and 12°C, in a white Burgundy-style wine glass to reveal its complexity.

A vintage marked by balanced ripeness, where freshness and concentration respond to each other in harmony.
- Ageing potential : To be cellared for 5 to 8 years in a cool cellar (12–14°C) away from light, to allow its mineral nuances to fully develop.
