In Les Arsures, within the Arbois appellation in the Jura, Domaine Julien Crinquand is one of the most exciting recent discoveries of the Jura wine region. Having returned to viticulture after a previous career, Julien Crinquand came back to his native land in 2016 to take over the 5 hectares of family vines (until then sold to the Fruitière Vinicole d'Arbois), hone his skills alongside Philippe Bornard and Fabrice Dodane (Domaine de Saint-Pierre), earn his BTS Viti-Œno in 2017, and then launch his own cuvées in 2019 under the label "Les Canons du Jean" (a tribute to his grandfather Jean, whose likeness appears on the label). Working with Savagnin, Chardonnay, Trousseau, Pinot Noir and Poulsard spread across the iconic soils of Les Bodines, Mailloche and Verleule, he crafts cuvées of exceptional purity (Le P'tit Prince, Le Coup de Plou, La Cuvée du D'Jopin, Le SAV du Jean) with no added sulphur, displaying remarkable finesse and precision.
