Located in Nuits-Saint-Georges at the heart of the Côte d'Or, this family estate was founded by Henri Gouges nearly a century ago and is one of the legendary estates of the Côte de Nuits. In 1929, Domaine Henri Gouges was among the first to bottle at the estate, at a time when selling in bulk was the norm. Domaine Henri Gouges is today managed by Christian Gouges, supported by Grégory and Antoine Gouges. The estate's vineyard spans 14.5 hectares across Bourgogne, Nuits-Saint-Georges Village and Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er cru. The vines average around forty years of age, and Domaine Henri Gouges produces 60,000 bottles per year, predominantly red Burgundy (Pinot Noir grape variety) and a small amount of white Burgundy (Pinot Blanc, derived from a mutation of Pinot Noir). Of the 14.5 hectares planted, 13.2 hectares are Pinot Noir and 1.3 hectares are Pinot Blanc.

Domaine Henri Gouges has six red Nuits Saint Georges premier crus and one white premier cru Nuits Saints Georges 1er Cru La Perrière made from Pinot Blanc. No artifice is used in the aging process. The estate produces age-worthy wines, frank and straightforward, that reflect the typicity of its terroirs. The great Nuits Saint Georges such as Vaucrains or Les Pruliers have gained finesse with more tender fruit while maintaining this aging capacity. Clos des Porrets brings out notes of smoke and cinnamon with tannins of great finesse. The 1er Cru La Perrière, from a very calcareous and stony terroir, is a wine of great purity, beautiful minerality with excellent fruit. With the structure of a red wine, notes of almond and a solar but balanced density, this wine without heaviness presents great length and beautiful bitterness on the finish.
