Georges Noellat was the nephew of Charles Noellat (whose vines contributed to the formation of the Jean Jacques Confuron, Hudelot Noëllat, and Domaine Leroy estates). From 1990 to 2010, the remaining vines were leased to Louis Jadot and Joseph Drouhin. In 2011, Maxime Cheurlin (at the age of 20), the grandson of Mme Noellat, took over the direction of Domaine Noellat and the management of its vineyards. The estate covers the grand cru appellations Echezeaux, Grands Echezeaux, as well as 6 Premiers Crus: Chambolle Musigny 1er cru Feusselottes, 2 Nuits Saint Georges 1er cru (les Boudots and les Cras), 3 Vosne Romanée 1er cru (Beaux Monts, Chaumes, Petits Monts) and village appellations: Gevrey Chambertin en Champs, Nuits Saint Georges, Vosne Romanée, Bourgogne Pinot Noir and Hautes Côtes de Nuits rouge.

The Grands Echezeaux cuvée 2014 is a powerful and more complete wine than the Echezeaux, though slightly less fresh. Choosing between the two will not be easy. It received the very fine score of 18/20 from Bettane and Desseauve. The Echezeaux 2014 cuvée, made with a portion of whole clusters, offers a beautiful freshness from very old vines. The intensity is exceptional (also 18/20 by Bettane & Desseauve). The Vosne Romanée 1er Cru les Beaux Monts 2014 cuvée delivers an extra dimension of power among the domaine Georges Noellat's premier crus. It is the most complete, long, and intense (17.5/20 B&D). The Vosne Romanée 1er Cru les Chaumes 2014 cuvée offers a superb texture, without exaggerated power but with a remarkable intensity. The habitual salinity of the domaine's wines is reinforced here (17/20 B&D). The Vosne Romanée 1er Cru les Petits Monts 2014 cuvée displays a fine and distinguished length, carried by a mineral note (17/20 B&D). Finally, the Nuits Saint Georges 1er Cru aux Boudots 2014 cuvée is slightly more rounded than the Vosne Romanée premier crus, with the domaine Georges Noellat's habitual fresh and saline finish (17/20 B&D). Regarding the domaine's second wines classified under the Nuits St Georges villages and Vosne Romanée villages appellations, the Vosne Romanée 2012 cuvée presents great aromatic complexity drawn from a blend of plots from the upper part (such as Champ Perdrix), the middle (Haute Maizières), and the lower part (Pré de la Folie). The whole is rich, seductive, and highly recommended (16.5/20 B&D). In terms of ageing, these two cuvées can be kept for between 7 and 10 years.
