All wines from the Saint Nicolas de Bourgueil appellation in Loire
The Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil appellation, an AOC since 1937, is a viticultural jewel of Indre-et-Loire, located in the commune of Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil, in the Loire Valley. Spanning approximately 1,050 hectares, this vineyard produces mainly red wines (98%) and some rosés (2%), with an annual production of 57,000 hectoliters. The king grape variety, Cabernet Franc (or "Breton"), sometimes blended with 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, flourishes on sandy-gravelly and clay-limestone soils. The wines, fruity and supple on the gravels, or structured on the tuffeau, offer aromas of red and black fruits, with elegant tannins, ideal for aging 5 to 10 years. Protected by a temperate oceanic climate, this unique terroir captivates enthusiasts and connoisseurs of Loire wines.
