Wine 2013 Bourgogne

The 2013 vintage in Burgundy was a late and classic year, marked by a cold and rainy spring, delayed flowering, a further hail episode in the Côte de Beaune and a cool summer that pushed the harvest back to October. The style bears this imprint: upright, fresh and chiselled wines with vibrant acidity. The whites (Chardonnay) are often among the most convincing — taut and mineral, from Chablis to Puligny-Montrachet and Meursault. The reds (Pinot Noir), lighter in style, stand out for their elegance and freshness when well made, with some lovely successes in the Côte de Nuits. Conceived for the medium term, the 2013 can be enjoyed today with great pleasure, at its peak. It sits between the concentrated 2012 and the luminous 2014, in a fresh and digestible register.
