Tasting notes for Château Lascombes 1981
To the eye: A deep ruby robe with tawny highlights, of a silky density and a brilliance subtly softened by the years.
On the nose: Aromas of wild blackberry and candied blackcurrant intertwine with notes of cedar, blond tobacco and a hint of damp undergrowth, heightened by a discreet mineral salinity.
On the palate: A velvety texture, carried by a lively acidity and a melted tannic structure, where flavors of prune, licorice and soft spices unfold, leading to a long, chalky finish.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Bordeaux glass to release its full complexity.
