The Château d'Yquem 1991, a jewel of Sauternes, is born from gravel and clay soils. This sweet wine, marked by aromas of honey and candied citrus, combines unctuous sweetness with mineral freshness on the palate. Perfect with foie gras or Roquefort, it can be kept until 2041.
A jewel of Sauternes, this legendary estate has embodied the excellence of Bordeaux winemaking since the 16th century.
- Terroir: Gravelly clay soils with a chalky subsoil in the Sauternes appellation, bathed by the Ciron river, which promotes noble rot and the concentration of aromas.
- Vinification: Manual harvesting through successive tries, aged in French oak barrels, producing sweet wines of unparalleled precision and complexity.
Tasting notes for Château d'Yquem Yquem 1991
To the eye – A golden robe with amber highlights, dense and luminous, like liquid honey captured in the glass, revealing an unctuous texture from the very first glance.
On the nose – An enchanting bouquet where candied orange, acacia honey, a touch of fresh ginger and a mineral hint of flint stone mingle, all enveloped in a vanilla sweetness imparted by oak.
On the palate – The texture is silky, almost tangible, carried by a lively acidity that balances the rich sweetness; flavors of roasted pineapple and crème brûlée stretch into a saline and persistent finish of rare elegance.
Serve at 13°C in a Bordeaux-style white wine glass to fully release its aromas.
