The Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey 2013, Premier Cru Classé from Sauternes, reveals aromas of candied fruits and honey. Made from Sémillon (93%) and aged 18 months in barrels, it combines silky sweetness with mineral freshness. Perfect with foie gras or desserts, to be cellared until 2050.
A historic Sauternes estate, this Premier Cru Classé (1855) embodies the excellence of an exceptional terroir, shaped by generations of expertise.
- Terroir : Located on the gravelly terrace of Sauternes, its siliceous-gravelly and clay-limestone soils, bathed in the morning mist of the Garonne, encourage the development of noble rot.
- Vinification : A meticulous blend of Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc and Muscadelle, aged in French oak barrels for a harmony between freshness and complexity.
Tasting notes for Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey Lafaurie Peyraguey 2013
To the eye – A golden robe with amber highlights, of a silky density and crystalline brilliance, like liquid honey capturing the light.
On the nose – First, notes of candied mango and roasted apricot, followed by a touch of orange blossom and candied citrus zest, before opening onto a saline minerality and a hint of beeswax.
On the palate – A velvety, almost unctuous attack, where the tangy tension balances the richness of the exotic fruits, while a chalky minerality extends the finish into a long, saline and spiced persistence.
Serve between 8 and 10°C in a Bordeaux-style white wine glass to fully release its aromas.
