The Château Figeac 1978, Premier Grand Cru Classé A of Saint-Émilion, comes from gravelly soils. This mature wine, based on Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, displays aromas of tobacco and undergrowth. On the palate, it is silky and fresh, ideal with game or a platter of aged cheeses.

Tasting notes for Château Figeac Figeac 1978
To the eye – A garnet red robe with tawny highlights, dense and slightly veiled by time, revealing an almost velvety texture.
On the nose – First notes of blonde tobacco and fresh cedar, followed by a hint of wild mint and damp undergrowth, before a saline touch underlines the chalky minerality of the terroir.
On the palate – A supple and silky attack, where lively acidity supports a melted tannic framework, while a long and saline finish hints at nuances of liquorice and forest mushroom.
Serve between 16 and 18°C in a Bordeaux glass to release its full complexity.
