Blanc de Blancs Brut Nature Vieilles Vignes 2021, from old Chardonnay vines in Champagne, reveals aromas of white flowers and citrus. With no added dosage, this lively, mineral wine has fine bubbles and pairs with oysters and Parmesan. Enjoy within five years.
A family estate rooted in Champagne, where six generations of expertise have been passed down with respect for the terroir and the vines.
- Terroir: Chalky and limestone soils on the slopes of the Montagne de Reims, home to great Chardonnays, where a temperate climate refines the grapes’ minerality.
- Winemaking: Traditional, organic methods favor natural fermentations and patient aging to reveal the fruit’s purity and the terroir’s tension.
Tasting notes for Françis Boulard & Fille Blanc de Blancs Brut Nature Vieilles Vignes 2021
In the glass: Pale gold with green highlights and crystalline clarity, while a fine, persistent stream of bubbles forms a silky column.
On the nose: First come scents of white flowers – hawthorn and acacia – followed by citrus freshness, then deeper notes of toasted almond, all underpinned by a saline, chalky touch.
On the palate: A lively, precise opening in which mineral tension meets a creamy texture, supported by elegant acidity and airy bubbles; the long, saline finish leaves an impression of purity and freshness.
Serve between 8 and 10°C in a slender Champagne flute to preserve the vibrancy of its aromas.
