The Champagne R Pouillon 1er Cru Les Blanchiens Brut Nature 2016 is born on the chalky slopes of Mareuil-sur-Aÿ. A blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, aged in barrels, it offers notes of white fruits, citrus and brioche. Mineral and saline on the palate, it pairs with shellfish and cheeses.

Tasting notes for the wine Champagne R. Pouillon & Fils 1er Cru Les Blanchiens Brut Nature 2016
On the eye – A pale golden robe, of a silky texture and crystalline clarity, reflecting the purity of the chalky terroir.
On the nose – Aromas of ripe white fruits (pear, apple), delicate white flowers, followed by a touch of candied citrus and a subtle brioche note, all lifted by a saline minerality.
On the palate – A precise and taut attack, where the mineral tension mingles with a lively acidity and an unctuous texture, for a long and saline finish, marked by chalk.
Serve between 10° and 12°C in a champagne flute or a white wine glass to reveal its full complexity.
Vintage 2016
A balanced vintage, where the freshness and ripeness of the grapes combine to offer a cuvée of great precision.
- Aging potential: 8 to 10 years, to be stored away from light and temperature variations, bottle lying down.
