The Chambertin Clos de Bèze 2023 from Domaine Robert Groffier is a Grand Cru from the Côte de Nuits, born of Pinot Noir aged in new oak barrels. Its aromas of hedgerow fruits and spices are complemented by a silky, mineral structure. Worth cellaring to accompany game or aged cheeses.
Domaine Robert Groffier Père & Fils
A family estate rooted in the great terroirs of the Côte de Nuits, where three generations have perpetuated a legacy of precision and elegance.
- Terroir: Clay-limestone soils of the Grands Crus of Burgundy, between Morey-Saint-Denis and Gevrey-Chambertin, where Pinot Noir expresses its minerality and depth.
- Vinification: A traditional and meticulous approach, combining respect for the fruit with aging in new oak barrels for a silky structure and refined tension.
Tasting Notes for Domaine Robert Groffier Chambertin Clos de Bèze Grand Cru 2023
To the eye – A garnet red robe with deep reflections, of a velvety density and crystalline brilliance, heralding a wine that is both powerful and delicate.
On the nose – Aromas of ripe hedgerow fruits (wild blackberry, morello cherry) intertwine with notes of undergrowth, violet, and gentle spices, lifted by a saline touch and a chalky minerality.
On the palate – A silky and taut texture, carried by a lively acidity and a remarkably fine tannic structure, where flavors of dark fruits, licorice, and flint unfold, leading to a persistently long and elegant finish.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Burgundy glass to release its full complexity.
Vintage 2023
A vintage marked by optimal ripeness of the grapes, offering a rare balance between concentration and freshness, ideal for lovers of wines that are both structured and harmonious.
- Aging potential: 15 to 25 years, to be stored under optimal conditions (stable temperature, controlled humidity, and away from light).
