The Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Sentiers 1997, from Domaine Robert Groffier, reveals the soul of the Côte de Nuits. Its aromas of cherry and violet combine with a velvety and mineral palate. Perfect with a truffled poultry dish or aged cheeses.
Heir to a family savoir-faire since the 19th century, this domaine de Morey-Saint-Denis embodies the standards of great Burgundy wines.
- Terroir: 8 hectares in the Côte de Nuits, including prestigious plots such as Les Amoureuses, on calcareous and clay-chalky soils that sculpt the elegance of the cuvées.
- Vinification: traditional approach, aged in oak barrels to preserve the purity of the Pinot Noir and reveal the minerality of the terroir.
Tasting notes for the wine Domaine Robert Groffier Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Sentiers 1997
To the eye: a garnet robe with tawny reflections, of a silky texture slightly veiled by time.
On the nose: aromas of black cherry, wilted violet, damp undergrowth and a hint of liquorice, carried by a chalky minerality and a touch of truffle.
On the palate: a velvety attack, a lively and precise acidity that supports a melted tannic structure, while a saline and persistent finish reveals the depth of the terroir.
Serve at 14–16°C in a Burgundy glass to release its nuances.
