The Domaine Roulot Meursault Les Vireuils 2023, born on limestone soils, unveils a precise and mineral Chardonnay. Vinified in barrels (15–20% new), it combines freshness, silky texture and citrus aromas. Ideal with seafood, it can be enjoyed now or after 3 to 5 years.
Domaine Roulot
A cornerstone of Meursault, Domaine Roulot embodies the alliance of a family heritage and an uncompromising pursuit of purity.
- Terroir: Shallow limestone soils of Burgundy, where altitude and the north-facing exposure of the hillsides sculpt Chardonnays of vibrant minerality.
- Winemaking: A precise and minimally interventionist approach — indigenous yeasts, measured barrel ageing — to reveal the tension and transparency of the terroir.
Tasting notes for Domaine Roulot Meursault Les Vireuils 2023
In the glass: Pale golden robe of crystalline clarity, enlivened by a silky sheen and a slight chalky viscosity.
On the nose: Aromas of hawthorn blossom and lime intertwine with notes of fresh hazelnut and flint, carried by a discreet yet persistent saline touch.
On the palate: Taut and precise texture, where a lively acidity dialogues with a calcareous minerality, leading to a long, saline finish marked by linear elegance.
Serve between 12 and 14°C in a Burgundy glass to enhance its purity and complexity.
Vintage 2023
A vintage where freshness and balance meet, faithfully revealing the mineral signature of the lieu-dit.
- Ageing potential: 5 to 8 years in a cool, dark cellar, allowing the wine to evolve towards deeper notes and greater complexity.
