Jean Marc Roulot Meursault 1er cru Charmes 2001
The Meursault Premier Cru Charmes 2001 from Domaine Roulot expresses the purity of Burgundy's limestone terroirs. This Chardonnay, with notes of citrus and almond, captivates with its silky texture and chalky minerality. Perfect for aging until 2025, it pairs beautifully with shellfish and poultry in sauce.
Domaine Roulot
A family estate rooted in the heart of Meursault, where the Burgundian heritage is passed down with rare dedication.
- Terroir: The clay-limestone soils of the Côte de Beaune, cradle of great Chardonnays, impart a chalky minerality and a characteristic tension to the wines.
- Vinification: Slow fermentations and carefully managed barrel aging to reveal the purity of the fruit and the complexity of the terroir.
Tasting notes for Domaine Roulot Meursault 1er Cru Charmes 2001
To the eye – A yellow-green robe of silky clarity, where light dances with discreet elegance.
On the nose – Fresh citrus zests intertwine with juicy pear, lifted by a delicate floral touch and a hint of toasted almond, all underpinned by a saline minerality.
On the palate – A smooth yet taut texture, carried by a lively acidity and a long finish where candied citrus, wet chalk and a subtle almond bitterness intertwine.
Serve at 12–14°C in a white Burgundy glass to enhance its precision.
Vintage 2001
A vintage where the ripeness of the fruit combines with a mineral freshness, the hallmark of great Meursault.
- Aging potential: To be enjoyed until 2025, stored in a cool cellar (12–14°C) and away from light.
