The Macération 2021 by Jérôme Bretaudeau is an orange wine from the Loire, born on granite and quartz in Gétigné. This biodynamic Pinot Gris is macerated for 30 days in concrete tanks, then aged in large oak barrels. Citrus, minerality and freshness on the palate. Ideal with refined dishes or to be cellared for 3 to 5 years.
Nestled in the heart of the Pays Nantais, this family estate embodies the union between viticultural tradition and biodynamic innovation, driven by the passion of Jérôme Bretaudeau.
- Terroir: White and pink granite soils, scattered with quartz, on the slopes of Gétigné — a mineral setting that lends the wines a singular tension and purity.
- Winemaking: An artisanal and experimental approach, where extended maceration and aging in amphorae reveal the complexity of the grape varieties, without artifice.
Tasting notes for the wine Domaine de Bellevue Jérôme Bretaudeau Macération 2021
In the glass: A golden robe with copper highlights, of a silky and lightly veiled texture, betraying a delicate maceration and generous substance.
On the nose: First, aromas of candied citrus zest — pink grapefruit and citron — followed by deeper notes of acacia honey and dried flowers, all underscored by a saline and chalky touch, the signature of the granitic terroir.
On the palate: A lively and precise attack, where taut acidity meets a fleshy and lightly tannic texture, carried by a persistent minerality; the finish, long and saline, evokes the sea spray of the nearby Atlantic.
Serving temperature: 12–14°C — best enjoyed in a Burgundy-style white wine glass to bring out its full complexity.
Vintage 2021
A vintage defined by vibrant freshness, where the balance between ripeness and acidity gives rise to a wine that is both structured and elegant.
- Aging potential: 8 to 10 years, to be kept in a cool cellar (12–14°C) away from light, to allow its aromas to develop over time.
