The Montagny 2022 blanc from Domaine Marthe Henry, made from Chardonnay, flourishes on the limestone hillsides of Montagny. Aged in old barrels, it offers aromas of yellow fruits and honey. On the palate, silky and lively, it pairs with poultry and risottos. To drink now or to keep for 3 to 5 years.
A family estate rooted in the Côte Chalonnaise, where respect for the terroir guides every harvest.
- Terroir: Clay-limestone soils of the Montagny appellation, marked by continental influences – freshness and minerality as their legacy.
- Winemaking: Patient aging in old barrels, without artifice, to reveal the purity of the Chardonnay.
To the eye: A golden robe with green highlights, of a silky clarity and a crystalline brilliance.
On the nose: Aromas of Williams pear and white peach, followed by a hint of acacia honey and a saline note reminiscent of Burgundy breezes – a discreet and precise elegance.
On the palate: An ample and taut texture, carried by a lively acidity and a chalky minerality, leaving a long and saline finish, like an echo of the limestone soils.
Serve between 10 and 12°C in a Burgundy glass to capture all its tension.
A vintage where the ripeness of the fruit combines with a preserved freshness, offering a rare balance.
- Aging potential: To be kept 5 to 8 years in a cool cellar (12-14°C) and away from light.
