The Clos de Vougeot 2004 from Domaine Méo-Camuzet, a Grand Cru from Burgundy, is born on clay-limestone soils. This Pinot Noir, aged in oak barrels, offers notes of dark fruits and spices. Silky and vibrant, it pairs beautifully with game or duck. At maturity, it is ready to be savoured.
Heir to a Burgundian expertise passed down through four generations, this family estate embodies the excellence of the Grands Crus of the Côte de Nuits.
- Terroir : 17 hectares of vines rooted in calcareous and marly soils, where the appellations Corton, Vosne-Romanée and Richebourg reveal their unique minerality.
- Vinification : A precise approach, combining tradition and controlled extraction, yielding wines of structured elegance and long persistence.
Tasting notes for Domaine Méo-Camuzet Clos Vougeot 2004
To the eye – A deep ruby robe with garnet reflections, of silky density and crystalline brilliance that heralds its maturity.
On the nose – First notes of black cherry and wild blackberry, followed by a touch of damp undergrowth, sweet liquorice and a mineral hint reminiscent of the chalk of Burgundian hillsides.
On the palate – A velvety texture, carried by a lively acidity and a melted tannic structure, where gentle spices, candied fruits and a saline finish intermingle, of remarkable length.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Burgundy glass to reveal its full complexity.
Vintage 2004
A vintage saved by a mild autumn, yielding wines of balanced ripeness, now at their peak.
- Aging potential : To drink now, with optimal cellaring through 2025 in a cool, humid cellar.
