The Clos Vougeot Grand Cru 2017 from Domaine Thibault Liger-Belair is a Burgundy Pinot Noir from clay-limestone soils. Aged in barrels, it reveals notes of cherry and spices. The palate is tender and mineral, with an elegant finish. Perfect through 2030 with roasted meats or cheeses.
Domaine Thibault Liger-Belair
Nestled in the heart of Nuits-Saint-Georges, this estate embodies the alliance of a Burgundian heritage and a contemporary pursuit of purity.
- Terroir : Clay-limestone and marly soils, typical of the Côte de Nuits, shape wines where minerality engages in dialogue with the depth of the Grands Crus.
- Vinification : A respectful approach – hand harvesting, ageing in oak barrels – to reveal the natural elegance of Pinot Noir without artifice.
Tasting notes for Domaine Thibault Liger-Belair Clos Vougeot Grand Cru 2017
To the eye – A deep ruby robe with garnet reflections, of a silky density that heralds a generous and precise substance.
On the nose – First aromas of black cherry and wild blackberry, followed by a hint of violet and liquorice, before a subtle chalky note comes to underline the minerality of the terroir.
On the palate – A velvety texture, carried by a lively acidity and a saline tension, where candied red fruits, soft spices and a long finish mingle, marked by elegant tannins and a mineral persistence.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Burgundy glass to fully release its aromas.
Vintage 2017
A balanced vintage, where cool nights preserved the acidity and finesse of the tannins, offering a wine that is both approachable and structured.
- Aging potential : To be kept for 10 to 15 years in a cool cellar (12–14°C) and away from light.
