The Domaine de Montcalmès, tucked away in Puechabon in the Languedoc, is the creation of Frédéric Pourtalié, a skilled winemaker who took over the family vines in 1998 to craft exceptional wines. Spanning 22 hectares in the Terrasses du Larzac appellation, this estate thrives on limestone soils and a temperate Mediterranean climate. The Montcalmès Terrasses du Larzac 2021 cuvée, a still red wine, blends 60% Syrah, 20% Grenache, and 20% Mourvèdre, vinified separately and aged for 24 months in barrels.

On tasting, this wine reveals an intense purple hue and a rich nose of dark fruits, such as blackberry, mingled with garrigue and gentle spices. On the palate, it delivers a dense texture, structured tannins, and balanced freshness, finishing with notes of liquorice and pepper.
