A family estate rooted in the heart of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Château Rayas has perpetuated since the late 19th century an exceptional winemaking heritage, where each cuvée reflects the soul of a unique terroir.
- Terroir: Pure sandy soils of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation, free of rounded pebbles, lending the wines a mineral elegance and rare tension.
- Vinification: Aging in 450 L oak barrels, respecting the purity of the Grenache with a discreet woody touch and a philosophy focused on finesse.
Tasting notes for Château Rayas Rayas 2012
To the eye: A deep garnet robe with tawny highlights, of a silky texture and chalky density that heralds generous substance.
On the nose: Aromas of wild red fruits – blackberry and morello cherry – evolving toward notes of kirsch, sun-drenched garrigue, incense, and a saline touch reminiscent of the Rhône winds.
On the palate: A velvety attack, carried by a lively acidity and taut minerality, with silky tannins and a long finish where gentle spices and a saline persistence intertwine.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Bordeaux glass to release its full complexity.
