The Marsannay Clos du Roy 2023 by Sylvain Pataille, sourced from the calcareous hillsides of Marsannay, is a vibrant and mineral Pinot Noir. Aged in old barrels, it reveals aromas of black cherry and spices, a silky texture and a saline finish. Perfect until 2035 with game or slow-cooked dishes.
Nestled in the heart of Marsannay-la-Côte, this family estate embodies the discreet elegance of the Côte de Nuits. A philosophy where terroir speaks above all else.
- Terroir : Calcareous soils and fine clays from the heights of Marsannay, the cradle of Burgundy's most precise Pinot Noir.
- Vinification : Indigenous yeasts, whole-cluster harvesting and ageing in old barrels to preserve freshness and minerality.
Eye: Deep garnet robe with ruby highlights, boasting a silky, luminous texture.
Nose: Fresh black cherry, wild blackberry, blooming peony, followed by notes of incense, white pepper and a saline hint of flint.
Palate: A lively, precise attack, silky tannins enveloping a chalky texture, with flavours of ripe red fruits, gentle spices and a long, taut, saline finish.
Serve at 16°C in a Burgundy glass to release its aromas.
A vintage where balance and maturity meet, offering a harmonious expression of the Clos du Roy.
- Ageing potential : Best kept until 2035 in a cool (12–14°C) and humid cellar.
