The Marsannay Clos du Roy 2023 Blanc, a Chardonnay from Domaine Sylvain Pataille, born on limestone soils. Naturally vinified and aged 18 months, it offers a saline and taut palate with aromas of toasted reduction. Perfect with white meats or shellfish, to drink now or to keep.
A family estate rooted at the heart of Marsannay, where respect for the terroir guides every gesture. Here, the vine dialogues with the limestone soils and the Burgundian winds to give birth to wines of rare precision.
- Terroir : The plots of Marsannay, set on clay-limestone and marly soils, offer a chalky minerality and a vibrant freshness, the signature of the appellation.
- Winemaking : A natural approach, indigenous yeasts and patient aging in barrels to reveal the elegance of Chardonnay without artifice.
To the eye: a golden robe with green highlights, of a silky clarity, heralding an unctuous texture.
On the nose: aromas of white flowers and candied lemon intertwine with notes of roasted hazelnut and flint, lifted by a discreet saline touch.
On the palate: a lively and precise attack, carried by a taut acidity and a chalky minerality, leading to a long and saline finish where indulgence and tension intertwine.
Serve between 12 and 14°C in a Burgundy glass to capture its full purity.
A vintage marked by beautiful grape ripeness, balanced by a mineral freshness, ideal for the white wines of Marsannay.
- Aging potential : To be enjoyed now for its liveliness or kept for 5 to 8 years in a cool cellar away from light.
