The Nuits-Saint-Georges La Charmotte 2018 from Domaine Thibault Liger-Belair expresses the clay-limestone soils of its terroir. This Pinot Noir combines red fruits, spices and a mineral touch. Silky palate, fine tannins and a fresh finish. Ideal with meats and cheeses over the next 5 to 8 years.
Domaine Thibault Liger-Belair
Heir to a Burgundian winemaking lineage, this estate embodies the alliance between tradition and modernity at the heart of Nuits-Saint-Georges.
- Terroir: Clay-limestone soils of the Côte de Nuits, where Pinot Noir expresses its minerality and finesse.
- Vinification: Precise aging, respect for whole clusters for a pure and vibrant expression of the grape variety.
Tasting notes for Domaine Thibault Liger-Belair Nuits-Saint-Georges La Charmotte 2018
To the eye: A deep ruby robe with garnet reflections, of a silky and luminous texture.
On the nose: Aromas of black cherry and fresh raspberry, followed by notes of undergrowth and a saline touch, evoking the chalky soils of the Côte de Nuits.
On the palate: A lively and precise attack, elegant and well-integrated tannins, chalky minerality carrying a long and taut finish marked by a subtle salinity.
Serve between 14 and 16°C in a Burgundy glass to release its full complexity.
Vintage 2018
A generous vintage, where the maturity of the fruits balances with a mineral freshness characteristic of the great wines of the Côte de Nuits.
- Aging potential: 8 to 12 years, to be stored in cool and stable conditions.
