From a rare climat, the Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Le Puits 2023 from Domaine Thomas Morey is a white Chardonnay with notes of green apple and citrus. Vinified with 20% new oak barrels, it combines lively acidity and a silky texture. Perfect with seafood, to be enjoyed within 4 years.
Nestled at the heart of the Côte de Beaune, this family estate perpetuates a viticultural heritage where precision and respect for the terroir guide every gesture.
- Terroir : The vines of the 1er Cru Le Puits, planted at altitude on clay-limestone soils, capture the freshness of the nights and the chalky minerality of Saint-Aubin.
- Vinification : A natural approach – indigenous yeasts, minimal sulphur – to reveal the purity of the Chardonnay, between tension and elegance.
In the glass: a pale lemon-yellow robe with green highlights, of crystalline clarity and a silky texture.
On the nose: aromas of russet apple and lime blossom into deeper notes of ripe pineapple, enhanced by a hint of vanilla and a fine saline reduction, like a mineral breath rising from the chalky soils.
On the palate: a juicy and creamy attack, carried by a lively acidity and a mineral tension that draws out a long, spicy finish, where stone fruits and a hint of pear intertwine.
Serve between 12 and 14 °C in a Burgundy glass to capture its complexity.
A vintage marked by preserved freshness, where the balance between ripeness and acidity gives rise to taut, precise wines.
- Ageing potential : Best kept for up to 4 years in bottle, in a cool place away from light, to allow its minerality to fully develop.
