A family estate rooted in the heart of Gevrey-Chambertin, where rigour and tradition shape wines of rare elegance.
- Terroir : Grand Cru plots in the Côte de Nuits, on limestone and marl soils, lending the wines a distinctive minerality and unique depth.
- Vinification : A respectful approach, combining ancestral expertise and contemporary precision to reveal the purity of the Pinot Noir.
Tasting notes for Domaine Armand Rousseau Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru 2009
- To the eye : A garnet red robe with deep highlights, of a silky texture and luminous intensity, heralding a dense and harmonious character.
- On the nose : A bouquet where aromas of fresh black cherry, delicate violet, subtle liquorice and a touch of damp undergrowth mingle, all lifted by a mineral hint evoking chalk and flint.
- On the palate : A velvety attack, carried by a lively acidity and an elegant tension, while fine, tight tannins structure a long and saline finish, leaving an impression of purity and complexity.
Serve at 16°C in a Burgundy glass to enhance its nuances.
Vintage 2009
A generous and balanced vintage, where the ripeness of the grapes allowed the full richness of the Charmes-Chambertin terroir to be expressed.
- Ageing potential : Keep until 2035, or even beyond, under optimal conditions (stable temperature, controlled humidity and away from light).
