Le Réserve Extra Brut from Billecart-Salmon, sourced from the terroirs of the Montagne de Reims, blends Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Meunier. Pale robe, nose of citrus and toasted bread, fresh and mineral palate. Ideal as an aperitif or with seafood, to enjoy within 5–6 years.
An independent family house since 1818, Billecart-Salmon cultivates excellence and discretion in Mareuil-sur-Aÿ, at the heart of Champagne.
- Terroir : A blend of grand crus from the Montagne de Reims, the Vallée de la Marne and the Coteaux Sud d'Épernay, where chalky and calcareous soils sculpt the minerality of the wines.
- Vinification : Traditional method combining freshness and complexity, with a large proportion of reserve wines for a harmonious and timeless signature.
Tasting notes for Champagne Billecart-Salmon Le Réserve Extra Brut
To the eye – Pale gold robe with silvery highlights, threaded by a ribbon of fine and persistent bubbles, like a lacework of light.
On the nose – Aromas of candied citrus (pink grapefruit, lime), followed by ripe white fruits (Williams pear, vine peach), then a hint of toasted brioche and a subtle iodized salinity.
On the palate – A silky and lively attack, carried by a taut acidity and a chalky minerality; the texture stretches into a long and precise finish, where notes of roasted hazelnut and a saline freshness intertwine.
Serve between 8 °C and 10 °C in a slender flute or a tulip champagne glass to preserve its delicate aromas.
Non-vintage cuvée
A blend of an average of fifteen harvests, this cuvée embodies the balance and consistency of the house, where reserve wines bring depth and complexity.
- Aging potential : 5 to 6 years for the bottle (75 cl), up to 8 years for magnum and jeroboam formats, to be stored away from light and temperature variations.
