Pavillon Rouge 2006
The Pavillon Rouge 2006, the second wine of Château Margaux, expresses the terroir of Margaux. Made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot, it captivates with its aromas of cherry and spices, aged in oak barrels. Its balanced and mineral palate pairs with red meats and aged cheeses.
Château Margaux
Nestled at the heart of the Médoc, this legendary estate has embodied Bordeaux excellence for centuries. The property of the Mentzelopoulos family, it combines tradition and innovation to craft wines of rare elegance.
- Terroir : Deep gravels and clay-limestone soils of the Margaux Appellation, where Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot flourish under a temperate climate, lending the wines a distinctive minerality and refined structure.
- Vinification : A rigorous selection of plots and ageing in French oak barrels for cuvées of remarkable precision and complexity.
Tasting notes for Château Margaux Pavillon Rouge 2006
- To the eye : A deep ruby garnet robe, of silky density, where the ruby highlights betray a harmonious ripeness and a velvety texture.
- On the nose : A generous bouquet opens on aromas of black cherry and ripe redcurrant, followed by more subtle notes of blonde tobacco, cedar and a spicy hint of black pepper, all underlined by a chalky minerality characteristic of the great terroirs of Margaux.
- On the palate : The attack is lively and precise, carried by silky tannins and a well-balanced acidity, while the long, fresh finish reveals nuances of liquorice and a delicate salinity, typical of great wines for ageing.
Serve at 16-18°C in a Bordeaux glass to fully release its expression.
Vintage 2006
A vintage marked by optimal grape ripeness, offering a perfect balance between power and finesse, ideal for lovers of structured and elegant wines.
- Aging potential : To be cellared until 2030 under optimal conditions (stable temperature of 12-14°C and controlled humidity).
