Nestled in the heart of Sauternes, this legendary estate has embodied viticultural excellence for more than four centuries, combining family heritage and absolute mastery of the terroir.
- Terroir : 113 hectares of vines set on gravel and pebble soils, bathed by a unique microclimate conducive to noble rot, within the Sauternes appellation.
- Vinification : Rigorous parcel selection, manual harvesting in successive tries, and patient aging for sweet wines of unmatched precision.
Tasting notes for Château d'Yquem Yquem 1999
To the eye – A golden robe with amber highlights, dense and luminous, like liquid honey captured in the glass, revealing an unctuous texture from the very first glance.
On the nose – An enchanting bouquet where candied apricot, ripe mango and candied citrus zests intermingle, before a hint of beeswax and a touch of salinity underscore the mineral complexity of the terroir.
On the palate – A silky, almost caressing attack, where the sweetness of the fruit mingles with a lively, taut acidity, carried by notes of gingerbread and vanilla, leading to a finish of remarkable saline and chalky length, of rare elegance.
Serve at 8-10°C in a Bordeaux-style white wine glass, to fully release its aromas.
