Comtes Lafon Volnay 1er Cru Santenots du Milieu 2023
From the clay-limestone soils of the Santenots, the Volnay 1er Cru Santenots du Milieu 2023 from Domaine des Comtes Lafon is a Pinot Noir aged in barrels. Fruity (cherry, raspberry) and mineral, it combines silkiness and freshness. A wine for ageing (10–15 years), ideal with poultry or truffle risotto.
Domaine des Comtes Lafon
A family heritage rooted in Meursault, the Domaine des Comtes Lafon has embodied Burgundian excellence for generations.
- Terroir: Clay-limestone soils of the Côte de Beaune, the cradle of great Burgundy wines, where each plot reveals a mineral and profound identity.
- Vinification: Biodynamic approach and patient ageing in barrels, for cuvées of tactile precision and vibrant energy.
Tasting notes for the wine Domaine des Comtes Lafon Volnay 1er Cru Santenots du Milieu 2023
To the eye – A deep garnet red robe, with a dense and luminous texture.
On the nose – Freshness of morello cherry and wild raspberry, evolving towards notes of ripe plum, damp undergrowth and a saline hint of flint.
On the palate – Silky and taut texture, where chalky minerality meets a lively acidity, leading to a long and elegant finish, carried by remarkably fine tannins.
Serve between 15 and 16 °C in a Burgundy glass, after a light aeration to release its full complexity.

A vintage where freshness and maturity are balanced with rare harmony, revealing the full nobility of the Santenots terroir.
