Personalise your experience
The Comtes Lafon Volnay 1er Cru Santenots du Milieu 2011, from the eponymous estate, reveals the elegance of Pinot Noir from Volnay. Red fruits, dried flowers and oak aging for a well-balanced palate, silky tannins and minerality. Perfect for 10 to 15 years of aging, with pigeon or cheeses.
Domaine des Comtes Lafon
A pillar of Burgundy since the 19th century, this family estate embodies the demands of a terroir and the transmission of artisanal expertise.
- Terroir: Clay-limestone soils of the Côte de Beaune, where Pinot Noir flourishes in an expression that is both precise and delicate, particularly in the Premiers Crus of Volnay.
- Vinification: Aging in oak barrels, respect for natural cycles and a pursuit of understated elegance, without artifice.
Tasting notes for the Domaine des Comtes Lafon Volnay 1er Cru Santenots du Milieu 2011
To the eye: Ruby robe with garnet reflections, of a silky clarity and a chalky density that heralds a refined substance.
On the nose: Aromas of Morello cherry and fresh raspberry intertwine with notes of dried rose petals, then give way to a mineral hint of graphite and a saline touch reminiscent of damp undergrowth.
On the palate: Velvety and taut texture, carried by a lively acidity that underlines the purity of the fruit, while a discreet minerality extends the finish into an elegant persistence.
Serve at 14-16°C in a Burgundy glass to release its full complexity.
Vintage 2011
A vintage marked by early ripeness and a delicate balance between freshness and concentration, ideal for lovers of elegant Volnay.
- Aging potential: 10 to 15 years, to be stored in a cool cellar (12-14°C) and away from light.
