The Volnay 1er Cru Santenots-du-Milieu 2022 from Domaine des Comtes Lafon, born on clay-limestone soils, offers notes of cherry and violet. An elegant palate, silky tannins and chalky minerality. To be kept 10 to 20 years, it pairs beautifully with chanterelle risotto or duck breast.
Domaine des Comtes Lafon
Since 1869, this family estate has embodied the excellence of Burgundy wines, rooted at the heart of the Côte de Beaune. A tradition in which respect for the terroir and precision in winemaking are passed down from generation to generation.
- Terroir: Clay-limestone and marl soils from the Volnay and Meursault appellations, shaping wines of rare minerality and elegance.
- Winemaking: Biodynamic approach and aging in oak barrels, producing cuvées in which the purity of the fruit is combined with a silky structure.
Tasting notes for the wine Domaine des Comtes Lafon Volnay 1er Cru Santenots-du-Milieu 2022
To the eye: A garnet red robe with deep reflections, of a velvety and luminous texture, heralding a wine that is both dense and airy.
On the nose: Aromas of black cherry and ripe raspberry, lifted by notes of violet and peony, before giving way to a mineral touch and a subtle evocation of damp undergrowth.
On the palate: A silky attack, carried by a lively acidity and a fine tannic structure, where nuances of liquorice and flint intertwine, leading to a long and saline finish.
Serve between 14 and 16°C, in a Burgundy glass to release its full complexity.

A vintage marked by generous ripeness and preserved freshness, offering an ideal balance between concentration and elegance.
- Aging potential: 15 to 20 years, to be stored in a cellar at a stable temperature (12-14°C) and away from light.
