The Michel Lafarge Volnay 1er Cru Clos des Chênes 2017 comes from the clay-limestone hillsides of Volnay. This Pinot Noir, aged 18 months in barrels, reveals red fruits and spices. On the palate, freshness, silky tannins and minerality. Ideal until 2030 with game or creamy cheeses.

- Terroir: Clay-limestone soils of the Côte de Beaune, the birthplace of Burgundy's most delicate Pinot Noirs – Volnay and its Premiers Crus, including Clos des Chênes, reveal a chalky minerality and unique finesse.
- Winemaking: Traditional methods, aging in barrels (25% new oak), absolute respect for the fruit and the terroir, free from artifice.

To the eye – A pale cherry-red robe of crystalline clarity, where light dances on silky, slightly tawny reflections.
On the nose – First, aromas of fresh morello cherry and tangy raspberry, then deeper notes of wild blackberry and violet, before a saline, chalky touch comes to underscore the complexity of the terroir.
On the palate – A velvety, almost liquid texture, carried by a lively and precise acidity; the chalky minerality extends into a long, taut finish where gentle spices and ripe black fruits intertwine.
Serve at 14–16°C in a Burgundy glass to release its full purity.
