Tasting notes for Champagne De Sousa Grand cru Cuvée des Caudalies 2013
Appearance – Pale golden-yellow, with fine, silky bubbles like light captured in the glass.
On the nose – Toasted brioche, ripe Williams pear and almond blossom, lifted by a saline touch and chalky minerality reminiscent of Avize’s subsoil.
On the palate – A generous yet taut texture, driven by lively acidity and chalky salinity. Notes of candied lemon and toasted vanilla carry through to a long, elegant finish that precisely expresses the purity of Chardonnay.
Serve at 10–12 °C in a champagne flute to preserve the finesse of the bubbles.
