The Didier Dagueneau Clos du Calvaire 2021, a white wine from Saint-Andelain, reveals an exceptional Sauvignon Blanc, aged in a confidential clos. Mineral, taut and silky, it offers a saline freshness and long ageing potential. Perfect with shellfish or aged cheeses.
Family heritage and viticultural precision at the heart of Saint-Andelain, where Sauvignon Blanc reveals its full nobility.
- Terroir: Clay-limestone soils and flint from Pouilly-Fumé, a unique microclimate shaped by century-old walls – a mineral signature and a rare tension.
- Winemaking: A rigorous biodynamic approach, with manual harvesting and barrel ageing for wines of remarkable purity and complexity.
Tasting notes for Domaine Didier Dagueneau Clos du Calvaire 2021
In the glass: A pale gold robe with green highlights, of crystalline clarity and a silky texture that heralds a dense and vibrant character.
On the nose: Fresh aromas of lime, acacia blossom and white peach, followed by a saline touch and a chalky minerality, like an echo of the flint soils of the terroir.
On the palate: A lively and precise attack, carried by a taut acidity and a persistent salinity, while notes of white-fleshed fruits and a touch of acacia honey stretch into a remarkably long finish.
Serve between 10 and 12°C in a Burgundy-style white wine glass to reveal its full complexity.
