The Didier Dagueneau Clos du Calvaire 2021, a Sauvignon Blanc from the Loire, reveals a chalky terroir in Saint-Andelain. Notes of lemon, flint and flowers, a taut and saline palate. A precise wine, to keep for 5 to 10 years, ideal with seafood or aged cheeses.
Heir to a pursuit of excellence in the Loire Valley, this family estate embodies boldness and precision, crafting wines in which the terroir of Saint-Andelain expresses itself without compromise.
- Terroir: Limestone and flint soils of Pouilly-Fumé, microclimates preserved by walled enclosures – a mineral and taut signature.
- Vinification: Radical methods, barrel ageing for a pure expression of Sauvignon Blanc, balancing tension and silky elegance.
Tasting notes for the wine Domaine Didier Dagueneau Clos du Calvaire 2021
To the eye: A pale gold robe with green highlights, of crystalline clarity, revealing an almost oily texture in the light.
On the nose: Aromas of fresh lime, cut boxwood, then white peach and acacia blossom, followed by a saline note reminiscent of sea spray and flint warmed by the sun.
On the palate: A lively and precise attack, carried by taut acidity and chalky minerality, giving way to a long, saline finish where notes of candied citrus and gunflint intertwine.
Serve between 10 and 12°C in a Burgundy-style white wine glass to reveal its full complexity.
