Château Figeac 1992, a fine wine from Saint-Émilion, comes from gravelly soils. This blend of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot is aged in barrels and reveals notes of cedar and dark fruit. The palate is silky and mineral. Ideal with duck breast; cellar until 2052.
A family estate rooted in the heart of Saint-Émilion, Château Figeac embodies the excellence of an exceptional terroir and a preserved winemaking tradition.
- Terroir : Gravelly soils dotted with flint and quartz over blue clay subsoil—a distinctive setting within the Saint-Émilion Grand Cru appellation, where minerality meets freshness.
- Winemaking : Aged in new oak barrels, with respect for the historic grape varieties (Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot) and a focus on structured elegance, balancing tension and silkiness.
Tasting notes for Château Figeac Figeac 1992
- Appearance : Deep red color with garnet highlights and a dense, slightly chalky texture that reveals full maturity.
- On the nose : Aromas of preserved dark fruit (blackberry, blackcurrant) mingle with notes of cedar, fresh mint and graphite, lifted by a saline, earthy touch.
- On the palate : Silky on the attack, with supple yet still-present tannins supported by lively acidity and stony minerality; the long, precise finish offers hints of licorice and light tobacco.
Serve at 16°C in a Bordeaux wine glass to bring out its full complexity.
1992 vintage
A vintage marked by early ripeness and approachable tannic structure, with the freshness of the Cabernets balanced by the roundness of the Merlot.
- Aging potential : Ideally enjoyed between 2000 and 2052, provided it is stored under optimal conditions (stable temperature, controlled humidity).
