The Château Canon 1990, Premier Grand Cru Classé B of Saint-Émilion, comes from the limestone soils of the Right Bank. This barrel-aged vintage combines aromas of plum and cedar with a silky, mineral palate. Drink now or within 6 years, it is sublime alongside duck breast with blueberries.
Nestled on the limestone plateau of Saint-Émilion, this family estate has embodied Bordeaux excellence for generations.
- Terroir : 34 hectares of chalky and clay soils, the cradle of the great Merlot and Cabernet Franc of the Right Bank.
- Vinification : Plots vinified separately, aged in French oak barrels for a pure expression of the terroir.
Tasting notes for Château Canon 1990
Appearance – A deep robe with garnet reflections, of silky density and slightly evolved character.
On the nose – Aromas of ripe redcurrant, candied prune and cedar, lifted by a hint of damp undergrowth and a subtle mineral salinity.
On the palate – A velvety texture, carried by a lively acidity and a chalky minerality, with an elegant yet discreet finish marked by spiced notes and a slight herbal bitterness.
Serve at 16°C in a Bordeaux glass to release its complex nuances.
